Summary of Rental Process – its easier than you think!

1. Complete the Rental Agreement and email that back.
2. Receive the Confirmation of Driver Qualification and Rental Cost Breakdown email.
If that is OK…
3. Reserve your car and rental dates by paying the Reservation Deposit via the website.
THE CAR IS NOT RESERVED FOR YOU UNTIL YOU PAY THE RESREVATION DEPOSIT.
4. Pay the Balance Due and Security Deposit not less than 72 hours prior to delivery of the vehicle.
5. Meet the CapConCars
Rep. at the Drop-off location, sign any remaining paperwork, review the car and enjoy!
6. Meet the CapConCars Rep at the pick up location, review the car and sign any remaining paperwork.

Taking the first step!

The first thing you need to do is become familiar with our website and the truly amazing classic cars we have for rent. Right here is as good a place to start as any! So please read on. Once you are pretty sure of the car you are interested in I encourage you to send us an email with any questions about the car. The main thing to realize right up front is that it requires more time to set up a rental with us than it typically does with one of the big chains so please don't wait until the last minute.

The First Step: Driver Qualification

Capital Connoisseur Cars is a fairly unique operation. As such, we have several requirements. The first part of the procedure is the verification of the primary driver and any additional driver's qualifications. This requires that you to send us several documents for each driver. It should be a fairly easy process for anyone that legally drives a standard auto on a regular basis. But if you have any questions or need any help please don't hesitate to contact us!

For Supreme Cars:
1. All drivers must fill out and fax or email back the Rental Agreement.·  Additional drivers are allowed but must fill out the appropriate sections of the Rental Agreement.

2.  All drivers must be 30 years of age or older at the time of rental.
·  All drivers must provide a copy of their driver’s license via fax or email.

3. All drivers must have no major moving violations or DUI convictions.
· All drivers must provide a recent copy of their driving record via fax or email.

4. All drivers must carry their own insurance policy with liability and physical damage coverage of $300K or more. We strongly suggest loss of use coverage for the period of the rental as well.
· All drivers must provide a copy of a current insurance card via fax or email.

For Standard & Superior Cars:
1.  All drivers must fill out and fax or email back the Rental Agreement.
            
·  Additional drivers are allowed but must fill out the appropriate sections of the Rental Agreement.

2. All drivers must be 25 years of age or older at the time of rental.
·  All drivers must provide a copy of their driver’s license via fax or email.

3.  All drivers must carry their own insurance policy with liability and physical damage coverage of $200K or more. We strongly suggest loss of use coverage for the period of the rental as well.
·  All drivers must provide a copy of a current insurance card via fax or email.

Once these documents have been received via fax or email and the driver’s qualifications have been verified you will receive an email confirming the qualification of each driver listed on the Rental Agreement. It typically takes less than 24hrs to verify all the information and send out the Confirmation of Driver Qualification and Rental Cost Breakdown email. Also, if we have any questions for you about the car you are interested in, the dates being requested or the pick up and drop off location being requested then that will ask you for clarification when we send you your Confirmation of Driver Qualification email.

Return Email Confirming Driver Qualification and Rental Cost.

If any questions remain regarding the car you are interested in renting, the rental dates you are requesting and/or the drop off and pick up locations then a request for clarification will be included in the Confirmation of Driver Qualification and Rental Cost Breakdown email. Almost always these are confirmation or clarification type questions that are handled quickly by email or phone.

A tentative rental cost based on the specific car, the dates being requested for rental and the delivery option and additional options being requested will also be sent to you in the Confirmation of Driver Qualification and Rental Cost Breakdown email. If the tentative amount we send is different from what you saw on the website, please first double check that you are choosing all of the correct options on the website. If a discrepancy still exists then please email us for a clarification or explanation.

Once a driver is qualified, the car is confirmed to be available over the dates requested, the drop off and pick up locations are verified and the rental amount is confirmed then the last thing to do is pay the reservation deposit via the website. Yes, we realize the system appears like it will allow you to pay the reservation fee for a car without first being qualified, however, we manually approve all payments placed via the website and we won't be able to reserve the requested car and dates until the four driver qualification steps outlined above are completed.

Reserve The Car and Dates via the Website.

Yes you're excited to get behind the wheel of one of our amazing classic automobiles. But if you haven't read the sections above please stop here and start reading this page from the beginning! At absolute minimum you should have already emailed or faxed over a completed Rental Agreement and received back the Driver Qualification and Rental Cost Breakdown email. You should have also have received the Confirmation of Driver Qualification and Rental Cost Breakdown email by this point. If not quite there yet, the Rental Agreement can be found in the Reservations drop-down menu.

The first step is clicking on the specific car you wish to rent which will transfer you over to our secure website to complete payment of the Rental Reservation Deposit.  From the drop down menus you must select the option to pay the Reservation Deposit to reserve the requested car and rental dates. You also have the option of paying both the reservation deposit and the balance due as well, though it’s not required at this time. HOWEVER, YOU MUST PAY THE RENTAL DEPOSIT VIA THE WEBSITE TO RESERVE THE CAR FOR THE DATES YOU REQUESTED IN THE RENTAL AGREEMENT. All you have to do now is confirm your selections and follow the steps through the shopping cart and check out process. Note: We manually approve all payments made via the secure website to insure accuracy. Once we have approved the Reservation Deposit you will receive an email confirmation and the car and dates are reserved.

Pay the Reservation Balance and Security Deposit via the Website.

The Balance Due and Security Deposit payments are due via the website not later than 72 hours (3 days) prior to delivery of the vehicle to your location. When paying the Balance Due, make sure you select the appropriate rental period from the drop down menu. Next select the delivery and pick up option appropriate for the location you have requested. If you would like a GPS included with the car or any other available options then pick those as well. All you have to do now is confirm your selections and follow the steps through the shopping cart and check out process.

This step completes the order for the car.

Because of issues we've experienced with credit card authorizations expiring before the rental term ends the Security Deposit is now collected in full before the car is delivered. Please understand that this policy is not flexible. Any damage found on the vehicle when it is picked up will be documented and billed against the security deposit. Each class of vehicle has its own security deposit requirement. As the vehicles go up in value so does the required security deposit.

All payments via the website or over the phone are completed using the latest security protocols so there's nothing to fear. Also, a company representative will review each rental request for accuracy before accepting any funds. If anything doesn't look correct or as expected you will be contacted before any charges to your credit card are accepted.

Picking up, using and dropping off the car.

Cars may be driven or trailered to the drop off location. A company representative will endeavor to be at the meeting location with the car ready to go at least 15 minutes prior to the requested pick up time. Please allot approximately 15 to 30 minutes to review and sign the paperwork, review and make any notes regarding the condition of the car and become familiar with the operational requirements of the vehicle.

Once the paperwork is completed and the keys have been turned over you are considered in possession of the vehicle until the return paperwork is signed, the keys are turned back over and the condition of the vehicle is verified. Every attempt will be made to verify the condition of vehicle at the time of return. However, in dark or busy areas please understand that this may not be possible. The Rental Agreement outlines exactly what are prohibited uses of the rental vehicle, as well as procedures for any tickets and accidents. The Rental Agreement should be reviewed, understood and with the car at all times.

As with the drop off, a company representative will endeavor to be at the pick up location 15 minutes before the time requested. There is a 1hr grace period built into the pick up time. Please understand that this should be ample time and anything longer than 1hr late may result in additional rental fees.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

The Reservation Deposit will be charged to your credit card at the time the reservation is made. If not already paid, the Balance Due and Security deposit are due via the website not less than 72 hours from the requested delivery time.

All Rental Reservations and rental-related payments made 72 hours prior to delivery of the vehicle or longer may be canceled without penalty. Cancellations made less than 72 hours but more than 24 hours prior to delivery of the vehicle are subject to a cancellation fee of 50%. Cancellations less than 24 hours from the drop off time and no shows of greater than 1 hour are subject to a cancellation fee of 100%. Capital Connoisseur Cars will always try to work with a customer experiencing a temporary difficulty and under certain circumstances will agree to reschedule a rental in lieu of assessing a cancellation fee.

At our sole discretion reservations may be canceled due to a forecast for severe weather. Under such conditions there will be no cancellation fee assessed. Reservations may also be canceled without fee if a vehicle becomes unexpectedly unavailable.

Please understand that there are no exceptions to this cancellation policy.

While our policy is not to issue refunds after the vehicle is , we do want you to have a truly unique and enjoyable experience. So under certain circumstances, such as truly horrible weather or a breakdown, we may offer additional rental days or vehicle upgrades. Doing so is solely at Capital Connoisseur Cars’ discretion.
