Capital Connoisseur Cars began as a pipe-dream around 5 years ago when a relative and I, both who just happen to be classic car nuts, spent an amazing week exploring England in a Jaguar E-type we had rented. Yes, rented! In fact we found classic car operations all over England. Yet upon our return we couldn't find a single one here in the US? Sure there were folks out there renting high dollar exotic cars, and even an odd American muscle car, but nowhere could we find for hire an MG or an Alfa or a C1 Corvette, arguably the most beautiful and fun to drive car ever made. We couldn't believe such a thing didn't exist so we set out to build our own operation.
We figured that since the majority of European sports cars were shipped to the States that we weren't alone in our passion and that there had to be a nostalgic legion similarly yearning to eschew our SUVs, minivans and wagons and jump behind the wheel of a classic European sports car. And what's the one thing that could make that dream even better - being behind the wheel without the hassle, headaches and expense of finding, restoring, storing and maintaining that classic car. At Capital Connoisseur Cars we're here to bring that dream to life!
We returned to find innumerable roadblocks, any of which could have been why there were no classic cars available for rent in the US. For several years we knocked one hurdle down after the next, and came fairly close to opening shop when my relative and fellow car aficionado was diagnosed with terminal cancer. After a good fight I'm sad to say he lost his battle, but he passed with his dignity still in hand and a full life lived. In some of our last conversations he affirmed his desire that I finish this project and make Capital Connoisseur Cars a reality. So here we are today, thanks in large part to equal amounts of luck and hard work, fulfilling his dream, my dream and hopefully your dream!
